Firefox v’s IE

March 13th, 2008 by the office chic Internet News

I was going around checking out all the ‘usual’ stat collectors, and was pleased to see that Firefox was still maintaining its foothold as being the more popular browser - over 30% of users in most cases. (no, I don’t count IE5,6 & 7 as being the same browser!)

IE is suffering it’s usual slow rollover to it’s new product (IE7). The general user can’t afford to keep upgrading their technology to cater to MS’s software.

From a website owner/designer POV, this is great… less troubleshooting! For my own sites I go forward, not backward. So unless it is something majorly wrong, I ignore archaic browsers. Apart from a few little quirks, IE7 seems to play nice with most things - though it still has a lonnnnnnnng way to come. I still wont use it myself unless testing.

So now I only have to concern myself with: monitor sizes, screen resolutions, aspect ratio & firewalls.
